Should i add EXTRA tranny oil for better shifting?.....
i read in a couple posts that adding extra Honda MTF via the breather hole on top of the tranny could help with shifting.
i've been getting some little grinds, especially going into 2nd and 3rd. also, sometimes when i try to put it into 1st from a stop, it doesn't want to go in. i have to take it into 2nd, THEN 1st. happens probably 1 in 5 times.
thanks in advance!
BTW, HOW MUCH EXTRA TRANNY OIL SHOULD I ADD???

This has got to be the 4th thread on this topic.
I have found through reading all of these that 3 quarts is amount of fluid.
I have also found, through my own experience, that Honda 2/3 Honda MTF and 1/3 LUCAS Transmission Fluid additive will do the trick.
I filled it through the Speed Sensor Hole and my Tranny is as quiet as a church mouse even after driving it all weekend.

What is this stuff exactly? You mention Lucas Transmission Oil and Lucas Transmission Fluid additive?!?
When I go to the Lucas Oil website <http://www.lucasoil.com/Products_List.cfm> I don't see either specifically listed. Can you point out the product your referring to? Thanks!

On the top of the tranny there is a sensor. On the type R you will have to remove the Air intake and look on top of the tranny you can't miss it. It's the only sensor in that area. It has 3 10mm bolts securing it. It comes off in two pieces You must remove the top piece (It's Plastic with a connector attched to it. then you can get to the other two 10mm bolts. Becareful there is a small pin inside that can fall out if you turn it upside down. This has a rubber gasket on it so it fits kinda snug. I hope this helps.
As for Lucashttp://www.lucasoil.com/Product_Deta...m?Product_ID=8 I'm sorry it is called Heavy Duty Oil Stabalizer.
Key Benefits
Increase oil life at least 50% longer
Reduces oil consumption
Eliminates dry starts
Raises oil pressure
Increases power and miles per gallon
and the Transmission additivehttp://www.lucasoil.com/Product_Deta...?Product_ID=12
It's called Transmission FIX but it can be used as a preventive maintainance measure as well. There are lots of other Lucas Products on their site but the only ones I have experience using are the oil Stabalizer, Transmission Fix and Injector Cleaner.
