Default Tein SS coilover

hi, i have tein ss coilover kit on my 98 civic ex coupe, but the one tein ss i have now doesn't have the rust protection paint on it. so would it get rust very easily? and my area snows alot, if i spray these rust protection stuff on it, would it help it from rusting? also what happened if it got rusted?

thx

hey, how does the Tein coilover kit ride? As a daily drive that is. Did you get the camber kit too and how much are you lowered?

I wouldn't worry about it. If you're anal, you can just give it a couple coats of rust-olium (green of course) h:

It would take an awful amount of rust to make a spring malfunction :a: I'd assume the threaded part itself isn't really a rustabe metal.

Unfortunately, the threaded part itself is the part that rusts.

The SS is a steel bodied assembly so unfortunately, those exposed threads will rust on the older uncoated units and can make it difficult to turn the perches or even "unlock" them. You can try keeping them coated in oil and spray them down every month during the winter and spring if you'd like. Kind of a pain but if you don't mind jacking your car up every month, not too bad.
