Default Battery keeps draining overnight

:upset:

Originally, tests showed the first battery I had to be fine. I replaced it anyways. 3 days later, the new battery is doing the same thing as the old one.

the alternator is fine.

I only draw 400w max or so with two amps, so I don't think its a problem of over-draw.

There's a questionalble main ground wire connection, but other than that, the stereo wiring is fine (I don't have a metal drill bit h: ). Still, I don't see how a ground wire would be draining my battery. Oh, and no amps are staying on overnight. They both shut off with the HU.

I've pulled the following things for a night with no change in outcomes: Alarm, main stereo fuse, etc.

however, when I exit my car, I get shocked.....

anyone have any ideas? I'm running out

Well Theres deff a short somewhere in the car ! My coupe had the same problem . it was a bit of water getting into the fuse box and every f**cking time I get out of my car it would give me a little shock . Take a look at ever wire that you can possibly see something is shorted out !

actually, I replaced the terminals a while back after the break-in. When those shitheads disconnected the power, they screwed them up, so I got some new ones that are quick connect/disconnect

even still, I like an alarm, so no to the battery disconnection.....

I was thinking that, but I didn't really look at it.... there was alot of excess sitting in the engine compartment, so I just pulled some in from the interior. I dunno, it looked fine (4 guage, and some of it, I already had electric tape covering it).

I dunno, in about 3 minutes, I'm gonna look over it again.... damn drizzle.... :a:

well, just got back from a stereo shop.

they said everything was cool with the stereo, and it wasn't that.

even with the system unplugged, the alarm removed, and everything off, it would still drain

the only suggestions they could come up with were either to take it to the stealership and have them look at it ($$$$), or to remove the battery terminals and watch it with a multimeter, which, at this time, I'm currently doing.

sigh.......

ANY suggestions would kick ass

well, this is what I was thinking of doing.

probably gonna end up parking it in the garage tonight with the terminals off. I'll see how that holds. Hopefully, the battery will die again on its own.

if it doesn't, and starts like normal tomorrow, I'm ****ed
