Default D16z6

Hi. In a post that I was in evryone bashed my D15 whatever I dont care. But I do want to know everyones thoughts on the D16z6. Just out of curiosity. Do you think that the Z6 is fast or can be built fast. ( I believe any engine can be built fast ) But what do you think. I am not talking about a mini me swap because that really isnt a D16z6. But I want to know your thoughts on the whole engine...

I think it is a good question...

I have the Z6 too...

I had a friend who rode in my Civic, and noticed the tourqeness of the Z6, and he drives a Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder? So it might be possible?

By the way, what the heck is a "mini-me" swap? I have seen that on this board alot?

Thanks

D16z6 is probably the best d-series engine. If you could just get a y8 intake mani then it'd be the best. There are a couple of turbo kits out for it so there is some aftermarket support.

No, that's when you take the head off a VTEC Dseries and put it on a nonVTEC Dseries motor. h:

As I said in your other thread, I think the Z6 is a good motor. It's the best Dseries (with the Y8) that they made.

I actually have a Z6 motor with a bad set of rod bearings in my garage right now. I'm going to be rebuilding it and selling it... maybe you'd be interested? Of couse, I don't know what you'll tell your monster D15 as you're ripping it out of the car. :rick: :db:

I wouldnt be ripping it out of the car because I like the D15. But I did get anouther civic strickly for a project I posted a thread about it. That I was considering putting a D16 in. I cant remove the D15 from my other car because I have to much time and money in it. I didnt say it was a monster engine I said it was fast and it is. I mean it is almost the same as a D16 it has a D16 head. And A EX tranny so it might as well be a D16..Am I right?

Man.. all this time you've been saying how great your D15B7 is and it has a D16Z6 head on it. If it has a Z6 head and EX tranny, it is for all intensive purposes nearly a Z6.

The B7 is crap even with bolt-ons.

But I did say that. Go back to the post from yesterday and the first thing i said was that I had a swap on it.. Of course the plain jane D15 is shit..Theres nothing to it. That is why I have been saying it is fast because it is fast...lol O well at least now we understand eachother.

If the B7 and the Z6 are the same block, and you can put a Y8 intake on the Z6...

Wouldnt it rival the ever popular B16?

Another thing: How can you tell what intake you have already? Are there numbers located somewhere on it like the motor? If so, where?

Thanks

The z6 is a good engine, but the b16 has more potential with two cams. It's more cost effect to turbo the z6, but if you have the money to turbo a b16 you'll probably find it more rewarding.
