Default pressure ?

wondering about attitude changes in regards to tire pressure

does having a higher pressure in the rear promote a more neutral bias?
tried this in my car, but too salty outside to push it.

or is it the opposite?

so that the rear tires approach the limit of adhesion sooner than the front; so the car does not understeer as much

I don't believe that altitude has any effect on your tires PSI. :dunno:

Typically speaking inflating your tires decreases the size of the contact patch and the adhesion limit on your tires. So I guess the short answer is no, you would want to decrease the adhesion limit of the front tires (since that's what causes the car to understeer). So you'd want to pump up the fronts.

Altitude has a big effect, because the atmosphere pushes on the tire too. When I drove from Denver to Cleveland I needed to stop and inflate my tires in Des Moines because they dropped nearly 3 lbs.

When I autocross I run around 44psi front, 34 rear to help the car rotate, you got it backwards.

:edit: hey, folks! he's talking about attitude, as in cornering attitude. Not altitude :chuckles:
