Energy Suspension Hyperflex Master Bushing Kits
Does anyone have any experience with these kits.
I got the master bushing kit and got most of the bushings installed but am concerned about the ball joint bushing/dust cover boot.
The oem ball joint boots have a clip that holds the boot in place and keeps the lube from coming out. The ones in the Hyperflex kit don't have any way of being clipped to the ball joint. Instead they seem to just slip ove the ball joint. I'm concerned that the hyperflex boots won't seal well and keep lube in and dirt out since there is no clip that holds them on.
What if any is anyones experience with the ball joint boots from Energy Suspension.
Besides this, the kit is great and I can't wait to get my suspension back together and see how it handles

I took the little boots and threw them in the garbage. I don't know what ES was thinking including those.

I put mine in, and kept the existing boot. It's basically smashes the original boot, and takes out any play that was already there. Kind of hard to explain. Did the same thing with the tie rod boots.
i put the poly boots over the stock boots, and when i torqued down the castle nuts, turned into stiff oval ball. Replacing the boots with the es counterpart will lead to leakage of grease.
I did it to the bottom ball joints and the a arm ball joints only. I left the tie rods alone.

OK, so I'm not crazy then... I did the same thing. I took them out of the package and was like WTF is this garbage... then I figured instead of replacing the oem ones I would just add to it.
So on the passenger side I just put the poly one on top of the oem one for the upper ball joint. Before I did the rest I figured I'd post here and see what others did with this junk.
So for those of you that used them as an addition rather than a replacement, have there been any problems and did it really help any?
According to Energy Suspension, these dust caps have a five point seal and resist corrosion much better then oem rubber... blah blah blah. I mean, I know that when I put everything together and put it under load that the weight of the vehicle will keep it pretty much sealed once it's squished but it still makes me nervous without the snap rings to hold them in place.
So on the passenger side I just put the poly one on top of the oem one for the upper ball joint. Before I did the rest I figured I'd post here and see what others did with this junk.

OK, so I called ES and presented my concerns with their ball joint boots.
The guy explained that they actually have a lip on the inner edge that will snap to the ball joint. Once the suspension is placed under load, it further commpresses the boot and creates a very solid seal that will not leak or allow dirt in.
With that, I headed out to the car to give it a try and was rather impressed and have decided to stick with the ES boot and use it rather than the oem.
I'll have to admit, I was a little skeptical at first. Just looking at the ES boot, they don't seem worth while but then I could tell by touch that there was indeed a slightly curlled inner edge that acts as a lip. It snapped on just fine and creates a perfect seal and even more so under load.
After all, the oem tie rod boots seal in the same manor; they don't have a snap ring like the ball joints, they just slip over a lip. So I will give ES boots a try until something goes wrong.
Not to mention, it looks so much better then those big fat squished rubber boots
