OK, so I'm not crazy then... I did the same thing. I took them out of the package and was like WTF is this garbage... then I figured instead of replacing the oem ones I would just add to it.

So on the passenger side I just put the poly one on top of the oem one for the upper ball joint. Before I did the rest I figured I'd post here and see what others did with this junk.

So for those of you that used them as an addition rather than a replacement, have there been any problems and did it really help any?

According to Energy Suspension, these dust caps have a five point seal and resist corrosion much better then oem rubber... blah blah blah. I mean, I know that when I put everything together and put it under load that the weight of the vehicle will keep it pretty much sealed once it's squished but it still makes me nervous without the snap rings to hold them in place.
