vafc problem :(

Default vafc problem :(

I think the engine is going into safe mode because the car wont rev past around 5000 when the vafc is activated. A shop caleld JoTechs (sp?) in dallas said they kno what the problem is and that they would fix it for $100. I think I have to bypass a MAP sensor or something, ,can someone help me out? This is a 99 GS-R btw. Thx

Do you have the VTM (blue)wire hooked up? Having that disconnected accounts for a lot of V-AFC problems, since it's not listed in the older manuals. If it's not hooked up, you can download the newest V-AFC manual, or the revision from A'PEXi's website. If that's not the problem, what is your VTEC engagement set at? If it's too far away from the stock engagement point, that'll sometimes cause you to go into limp mode as well.
