f**king pep boys
I got home last night and my check battery light flickered on and when I tried to restart my car, it was dead. So I called for a tow truck this morning, waited an hour, and had my car taken to Pep Boys. I stay at Pep Boys for 3 1/2 hours while they changed my alternator (it'll be about an hour, ma'am) and installed a new battery. Three miles down the road (2 miles home and then a mile away from home later) I start to hear this weird slapping sound. I pull off onto a side road and lift my hood to see my serpentine belt thrashing wildly about the engine compartment. I call Pep Boys who gave me the number to their towing service, waited in the butt ass freezing cold with my son for another hour and then another hour later they come and tell me that everything is fixed. I made them open the hood again and was about to be satisfied when I saw that the hose for my windshield wiper fluid ad been ripped out and the nozzle on that side of the car had been shattered. They were trying to tell me that the car had been designed with the pump on the left with hoses running all the way to the right and then back to the left. I laughed at the mechanic and asked him to tell me why they would waste 2 feet of extra hose doing that. FINALLY they agreed to replace all the hoses and order a new nozzle from the dealership which means I have to go back in and spend another afternoon waiting for them to fix that.
Thats like taking your car to Jiffy Lube for an oil change. Your just asking them to **** it up. Dealerships are your best friend. They are more spendy but they won't try and **** you over, its worth it if you ask me.
More reasons why I'm my own mechanic.

They are all the same. Bunch of dumb asses that only know what the comp tells them. wouldn't know a car from their ass hole.
I don't like pepboys. The last time I let them do an Emmision check on my car, that jerk fawk up and slam the front right of my W-type kit against the lift holder. And he didn't apologize, I called in the manager and complained. The manager said that my car was too low. I was like: "wtf is too low? He didn't set it straight, so it went out of control and steered to the right, and that lift holder thing is like 12" tall. What you mean by too low, so you saying that you can only do emssion check on SUV and Pick-ups?'
So they shut their mouth and apologized, yet still took the money. Luckily that mine is urethane and it didn't scratched or anything, else, I would have made them pay. :madfawk: I don't go to PB no more.
