d16z6 Civic Died now won't start
OK can't figure this out any help would be great. My Civic died while driving like I lost all power, when I pulled off the road I tried to start it and it just cranked over over and over but never fired up. I got the car towed home. The first thing I checked was the cap and rotor. They didn't look to good so I replaced both. Car still wouldn't start. Just keeps turning over and over. I checked all spark plugs and they are sparking also fuel is working too. Firing order is good can't think of where to go now. I figured with fuel and spark getting to the clynder it would start but I am not even getting a sputter out of the engine. Please let me know what I should do next. ~Thanks
Does the engine check light stay on or go off after a couple seconds after turning the key?
Maybe check the ECU fuse.
I had a similar problem a couple of months ago, except mine never died while driving. I went out to start it and it wouldn't. The engine check light stayed on and wouldn't go out. I checked a bunch of stuff and couldn't figure it out so I took it to Honda, and my ecu had gone out. I replaced it and it works now.

If you have check fuel pressure and ignition, and so on an so forth...
Make sure that both sides of the engine are spinning while trying to crank over. It is possible that the cam shaft is broken. Or the distributor.
...Or, as said above, a fuse/relay.
P.S. check your blinker fluid :lmfao:

I doubt it's a broken cam or timing belt. What sound did it make when it died. A broken timing belt would make a lot of noise when starting it since it would be flapping around in there. Definately not the coil but it could be the igniter. Also I doubt the distributer since it too would make a nasty noise prior to going out. Check fuel, just pull off the fuel line at the rail and turn the key (no smoking while doing this). It's not the best way to do this but the quickest.
