"Brian Gillespie crashes his Hasport Hondata Insight at El Mirage dry lakes meet Nov 10th, 2013. The safety equipment worked as designed, and he escaped with relatively minor injuries. The car was the season's points champion, and was running between 180-190mph when it turned in. I've worked on people in the morgue that went through a lot less. Holy hell.

 

Not knowing what had happened, I watched expecting the car to get sideways. But holy hell, there's simply no time between being loose and being upside down. Back in the dark ages, the EIC at Car & Driver had a similar crash in an FD RX-7.
