I was just talking to my friend today about what car he should get after he graduates in May and works full-time.

He has a slow auto e46 now and he was considering a C5 or C6' 'Vette as a weekend racer. He was thinking 60k US could buy one along with some nice mods to give it 500-600hp?

On the other hand I suggested a Viper. You can tune those babies to 600-700 easily right?

I think those big American cars are the best for high end speed right? They can also be tuned as good track cars.

What would you build for 60k?

For right now, I'd say that that Lingenfelter twin turbo Vette would probably be the "king of the highway" but I really hate that concept.

is he getting one new or used? i don't know if you will get those types of power numbers with a new one with that little amount of cash. they are not the most expensive cars to mod but they are piss cheap either. he has to remeber that with the power increase he will have to do suspension and brakes. with that much power you need some serious control of the car. also is he going to do most/all the installs himself?
