I have this weird "ticking noise" that is associated with speed. It's not engine RPM related. The faster I go, the faster it taps. It sounds like it's coming from inside the gauge cluster. Any idea as to what it might be? My guess is something cruise control related? :dunno:

 

could be a vibrating speedometer cable in need of lubrication. if it is louder when the weather is colder, that is probably what it is.

pull it out, clean it, grease it up and plug it back in.
