I would like to get some advise from the Fit owners. I bought the Element locking gas cap for the 2007 Fit as I have read about it. I would like to hear from those who has replaced the original gas cap. I tried to put the new locking gas cap on the Fit but found that you can still turn the outer ring of the gas cap easily. Is this normal and is the inside o-ring and locking part secured tightly against the rim ?

How do you remove the original plastic that is holding the gas cap without cutting it ?
