lets get this straightened out... does i/h/e really do anything
i believe that if you are not running any forced induction applications, intakes, headers, and exhaust wont give any improvements. maybe you will get that 10-15 hp with all 3 bolt ons going at 100+ miles per hour, but for regular everyday driving and street racing, it wont do anything... any inputs are welcome... actually i would really appreciate it if someone can prove me wrong because i do wanna get these bolt ons but its just not worth it for the money. BTW when i say bolt ons, im not talking about generic OBX, Arospeed crap, im talking about full cat back systems, dc sports quality headers and cold air intakes.
An engine is an air pump, the more efficiently it can draw in and vacate air, the more power it will produce.
That said, a good, well thought-out I/H/E combo WILL give you between 10 and 15 HP more[edit:: accented over the stock power curve], and you can squeeze even more out with detailed tuning. Also, with that new-found efficiency, you can actually get better gas mileage around town driving "reasonably."
As far as being worth the cost for the power and time, that's between you and your wallet, but you'd be amazed how much power you can extract on stock internals, stock cams, and no machine work. If you find yourself still wanting more, then you can punch out the bore, balance the internals, port and polish the head, slap some cams in, and/or go the forced induction route.

i think it does help slightly, but hardly worth the money on a STOCK engine.... BUT, the bolt ons are a good basic start for modifications with future plans to modify the engine. basically, on Honda's, the engines are pretty damn efficient from the factory in my opinion, which is why i believe that the basic boltons dont do much to our cars at first. its when you start getting into internal modifications that those bolt ons start to really help out. for instance, i had an intake and exhaust at first and my car was just louder than before, but not much quicker. then i put on a built head with cams.... i dynoed it with the stock parts on, then when i added the boltons to the built head later, i got a 12hp increase to the wheels. but before the built head was put on, they didnt do jacksh*t.
Well said eddie.

defintaly not worth it if you pay retail price
meaning 200 for cai 300 for header and 600 for catback
1100 for 10 hp to the wheels (no thank you)
1100 is a lot of money
forced induction is the way to go
turbo
super charger
or nitrous
