can anyone give me names of reputable machine shops in the dallas area?.. preferably garland/richardson/plano

search using Bellsouth Real Pages. Call around and talk. Know what you want and be specific.
I had trouble finding a shop with small enough equipment to my D16.

Use www.smartpages.com or www.superpages.com they both are local telephone companies. Bellsouth is not in the Dallas area so usually would not have total listing.
