Default Crankcase.....Positive???

is my crankcase supposed to be sucking in air while its idling? i mean when my motor is running i pulled the dipstick out and it went "piiiiw" you know like when you put your hand on the vaccum cleaner nozzle at home then pull it off and then it sucks in air. is it supposed to be like that? also i changed my oil cap today, my car was off but when i opened the cap it made the same sound from the oil cap.

please help me cause i dont know if its good or bad.

thanks

do you have a CAI or ram air? describe that setup.

I'm sure your question is answered somewhere in here:

That would be Honda-Tech. :chuckles:

Never noticed it on my GSR... gonna wander through my service manual for a bit and see what I can find.

what I really wanted to know was if you had the air intake hooked up to the PCV or if you had a little breather filter... You know .. that old story...

Air is supposed to be drawn from the intake, through the crankcase, through the catch can on the back of the block, and then out the PCV. So yes, that's normal.

that is the cycle above but you shouldn't have psi or vacum coming out of the dip stick tube, if so your cc is bing pressurized by something

what do you mean? there is no way the crankcase cant be either. its either vacuum or pressurized. only way that would happen is if you disconnect the PCV valve.
