Default Compression Test Done

Well I just did the comp test on my car which is a '93 civic 4dr with a stock engine that has almost 225,000km on it and found the following ..

1 = 150
2 = 150
3 = 0
4 = 150

So I definitely will be having to rip the head of this beast now hehe.

Even though the 3rd cylinder definitely seems bad, 150 still seems low, well I dont know about Honda engines.

yeah... our NA eclipse engines should show up around the 215 mark.

150 just seems very low... I'd check on that too..

I cranked the engine over 5x dunno if I should have done more or less, but if one cyclinder is dead its obvious that the head is probably in crappy shape heh. I'm just waiting till pay day to rip it apart and look at the head.

make sure you have the throttle fully open when you test. We tested one car to see the difference, between open and closed, went up to 180 from 150 after we opened it... Good luck...

not sure what the spec.s are for a civic nor do i know which engine you have, but on my ls teg. 190 is new and it's the rebuild limit is around 150 i think, but for your mileage that's not god awful, as long as there even across the board your safe but yea with # 3 like that you have issues there, good luck

yah what is most important is that they are all about the same obviously higher numbers will result in more hp with more a higher compression rate but seems as though that cylinder is dead completely. does it go up and leak out quickly? or does it just not go up? could just be a blow head gasket could be more serious. good luck when u pull it apart, at least the other 3 are about the same...

and 3/4 aint bad...
unless ur talking about an engine.
