Default ls/vtec idle and temp prob help!!!

ok, I fibnally got my ls vtec running. 12:1 compression W/gsr head. My car doesnt want to idle, just stall but is fine when I give it gas. also as soon as I start my engine the temp guage starts to sky rocket. I really afraid that it is over heating but I cant tell because the radiator fluid is cool. I already changed the thermostat and dont know if the car is stalling because of the overheating(if it is) or if its something else. I need to break the engine in but dont want to uinder these circumstances. Ther are no engine codes and I am running crower stage 3s but they have stock Idle lobes so I have no clue what to do. someone please help. I am about to drive it off a cliff(if it doesnt stall first). I havnt even been able to check the timing yet. wtf
oh yea its in a obd0 89si

ok I fixed somethings. I found out that the pin that connects the coil pack to the cap was cracked off. so had some bad ignition. I managed to get the guage to work for a while to realize that my temp is fine andthat the guage just likes to shoot to hot for no reason. so car is not over heating thank god. Now I cant get the car to idle below 1000 rpms. igniton timing is set to 14 degrees. stupid idle. I set my tps to around.5 volts. at least thats what my vafc tells me. I also cleaned out the IACV with throttle body cleaner and still have yet to get a stock idle.

any help is greatly appreciated. I need my lsvtec running top notch.

well, today I found out how to fix my temp guage, pound on the dash board until it goes back to normal. every once in a while it will go wacky but its nothing that teh old hand couldnt slap some sense into. I also hooked up my air fuel guage and ity appears that I am running way rich at isle and I hav A feeling thats why my car wont idle under 1k. I have a vafc hooked up but dont want to mess with it yet because I dongt realy know how to use it. I have my fuwl pressure turned all the way down and still haveing trouble with being overly rich. I have prelude injectors in it . do you guys think i should throw in thge b16 injectors or just weight to get it tuned by a proffessional. could I cause any damage to my engine while breaking it in with it running so rich? let me know what you think.

the prelude injectors are HUGE, that is if you mean h22a injectors from a 92-96 prelude...thats 345cc right there and stock is 240cc for ALL B series....

tell me about it, but with all the research I have been doing that seems to be one of the injectors of choice for setups close to mine. I put the old injectors in and it seemed to idle better but went lean way to fast under exceleration. I had static fuel pressure set at 50psi. I need tuning but the closest place is in canada and about a 2 hours away. I am trying to get it to idle good enough to take it up there. do you think it is at all possible to damage my engine with to much fuel???? it runs pretty sweet except for the idle. maybe i will play with the vafc a bit.
