It's VTEC time! The most simple VTEC controller would be a toggle switch wired to the solenoid. But that would be rather inefficient. But if you're in a hurry, it'll let you test that the VTEC is working. You can design your own VTEC controller with a MSD rpm switch PN-8950 and PN-8671 which will give you a range of 4600-6800rpm to activate the VTEC.

Another low cost option would be the Autogage (by Autometer) ATM-2302 Tach with built in shift light. The shift light could be wired to trigger the VTEC solenoid, its infinitely adjustable from 1K-8K RPM and costs less than $80. See Matt's VTEC controller article at the Integra Performance Page for more info.

i would suggest either getting the correct controller or doing the autolight suggestion instead of a toggle switch good luck

i have an autolight shift light and u just buy the pills when u want it to light up so all ud have to do is jump it off ur distributor wire and hook it up with the correct pill where u wanted vtec to engage.

changine the vtech engagement without changin air/fuel ratio is pointless and could rob you of power if you engage it earlier or later than stock engagement point. the reson is when vtec kicks in at stock the ecu adjusts a/f at the point of vtec. so making come on early your messing up the a/f ratio. get a V-AFC to do this.

umm ur talking about on the shift light? or the vtec soleniod? for the shift light its:
red 12 volt constant
black ground (chassis)
green off the distributor ill find out the exact wire to jump tonight when i take a look at mine, thats the wire ur gonna have to hook the sylenoid into also to get the power at the correct rpm.
