GSR Swap
I just had a gsr swap done in my 99 civic ex. Its a 96 jdm b18c motor. I have to run my computer on it temporarliy. Is that the reason it won't let me rev my motor past 5000rpm?
yah possibly something isnt correct with the rev limiter, but more likely ur not getting all the power u should because of incorrect air/fuel ratios, timing, etc that is programmed into the 99 ex ecu, id suggest getting the correct ecu for the engine ur running to not only get the power u should but also to avoid damage and complications with the gsr engine uve got.
hey bud, can you tell me what CELs you're throwing with that setup, I'm curious, it's probably easiest to go to an auto-store and borrow their code reader, cause I'm guessing you're throwing a bunch...

Not even going to bother... I'd prob max out the memory on the reader
Hopefully this OBD1 ecu will help.
IAB opens around 7 grandish, if I recall. Vtec a litle over 5, I think.
there might be some missing sensors between the JDM/USDM ecu/computer, are you going same market for the ecu?
Like I don't think jap motors have the EGR solenoid, and maybe a knock sensor where USDM doesn't or vice versa...
