i just got my 00 si at the begining of the month.its got 40,000 miles on it.a couple days after i got it it started to get hard to put into 5th gear or it would grind 5th gear.all of a sudded its starting to pop out of 5th.anyone have any idea what it could be?any help appreciated.

First off, check your tranny fluid level. That's the first thing that pops to mind as a potential cause, and it's pretty cheap to check/correct.

 

I had a 99 ex that did the same thing in 3rd and the had to change the gear in it...but it was under warrent so it didn't cost me anything...but i would check the tranny fluid level and if thats ok then bring it to someone or do it yourself if you think you can.
