Default some sort of sensor? help me wire this thing

there is a small green top on the back of a b16, it has two prongs sticking out of it that are for connecting to two wires. it is about the size of a quarter in diamater and the prongs face the firewall when the motor is installed. it is on the back of the head or block...

anyway, there are two wires, a black and a yellow...and the quarter sized fiberglass item is not marked for positive and negative. does it matter which wire we plug into which prong? what is this thing im talking about, anyone know?

If it like 2 loose butt connectors but with a rubber boot around them sort of? Black and yellow? Sounds to me like the Cooling Fan Sender things. It doesn't matter which one plugs into which thing. The thing it plugs into is a cylinder with 2 prongs sticking out. Basically when the coolant gets a certain temp that sensor connects the two connections giving power to your fans. Stick them on any way you want.

What year engine is it... cause when I check the wiring diagrams for an obd2 B16... the ect sensor wires are red/white and green/black. And for this engine it matters which wire goes where. red/white goes to ECU pinout D2 and green/black goes to a junction connector which is common to the IAT, Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor, and TPS. Then from the junction connector it goes to the ECU Ground Pinout D11. Again this won't apply if your engine is obd1 or obd0.
