Default Ls vtec or b16?

I have a 91 civic hatchback dx and am saving up for a b16 from hmotorsonline and drop it in there...I've already done almost everything else on the car..suspension,brakes,etc. But a deal came along for an ls vtec...the ls vtec motor for 1 grand...thats pretty good I thought..but I will still need a transmission, ecu, motor mounts, shift linkage (dont' know which one will work)...the b16 was gonna cost me about 2 grand in all with lsd, shipping, it would be a complete change over though....I have a friend who does great work and can help me drop either motor in...which do yall recommend. I know that the ls vtec doens't last long etc...but this is my weekend race car..I have a daily driver already. Which one would be more bang for the buck. How much extra would it cost me to get the lsvtec going? What mounts, likages etc would I need? The ls vtec motor is brand new too..0 miles

id say the ls vtec, if u can get a good deal on the tranny ecu etc. but compare the prices and go from there, b16's are great engines but most are older and do require a good rebuild if ur planning on wailing on it or shooting nos, turbo, supercharger, etc. if u wanted a reliable car id say b16 all the way, but since u already got a daily driver its ultimately ur decision.

Finding a Tranny, Ecu, axles, etc will be a big hassle. I would personally just save up for the B16 change over, since it comes with the cable tranny you need and all that, it will be easier...
