Default electrical wiring question cooling fan

car is a honda crx if it makes any difference.
my cooling fan wiring is messed up somewhere, i went out and bought a new cooling fan for the radiatator, hooked it up and i got nothing, checked the fuse nothing, jumped the relay got nothing, hooked the fan directly to the battery and the motor works just fine, so its gotta be the wiring in the harness going to the fan. instead of openning up everything and rewiring it all the way back im gonna just jump the connection somewhere else, so my question is "where is a good positive wire under the hood to jump my cooling fan too?, i want power only going thru it when the car is on, itd like to jump it after a fuse so that it doesnt short circuit nething if the wires ever get crossed?" so anyone know the best possible location for me to pull my positive connection from? TIA
if there isnt a poc way to do this im gonna just hack my aftermarket fog light wire and hook that up to the cooling fan cuz thats already wired to the front with a 20 amp toggle switch mounted to the dash

Did you check the water temperature sensors (if you car has them)?? They're normally by the upper hose neck on the block and the lower hose neck on the block. If they're dead, your fan won't turn on, no matter if the motor works or not.

humm... not sure if my car has them or not i'll look tomorrow, in the mean time i just jerry rigged a throttle switch to turn the fan on whenever i start up the car, the only problem is i have to remember to turn it off when i shut of the car or else i might kill my battery, but if anyone knows of a wire to pull from let me know cuz im gonna have to rewire the harness sooner or later

CRX might be different, but on both of my Honda's, the fan switch is on the thermostat housing, which is the LOWER radiator hose. The sensors at the upper radiator hose are for the dashboard gauge (smaller one) and the ECU (bigger one with plastic plug). They don't 'share' information.
