I checked the CEL light with the ecu code trick that is on the how to forum of this web site and my car is throwing Code 12 which is
Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Lift Sensor in other words EGR Valve. How much is it to fix that. Can I do it myself if so how much is the part, and where is a good place for me to get it from anyone know. I usualy do all the work to my car myself if someone can help me out it will be much appreciated thanks

first check that the vacume line didnt just blow off, of the valve. if thats the problem just put it back on, otherwise check the vacume hose make sure its not clogged, try blowing through it, finally if thats not the problem then look into prices for the egr valve, and yes u can do it urself if u have to, its not hard at all, autozone or checker any auto place like that can order u a new one, but its probably not something they keep in stock. cant give u a quote on prices i dont remember

most ppls egr hoses goes right above ur after market intake, at least on crx's and early civics, dont know what kind of car u have but ive seen them knocked off on 2 different cars on accident and they started throwing codes after about 2 minutes of driving, if u turn ur car off while driving and turn it back on the light will turn off, but only until it recognizes u dont have any pressure.

Ok i see what you are saying. i am currently driving a 96 honda accord ex. so you think it is worth wild that i check the hose first to see that it didnt come lose. When I turn on my car the CEL light comes on right away it has been on for a min now and i finally got around to check the codes and I found out that it is throwing code 12
