Default Rim scrates from lug nut wrench?

How easy does a lug nut wrench scratch your rims when your putting on a lug nut? my wrench is like 1 mm close to the rim so when i turn the wrench it scratches the end of the lug nut outter rim part.... if you didn't get that basically my lug nut wrench is scratching my rim when i put on a lug nut... are they suppose to scratch that easy??? thank you!

invest in some lug nut sockets. stops the wrench from tearing your rims up. JC Whitney and most mail order catalogs have them.

Another solution is to get some thin wall sockets.
