The regulator sits atop the fuel rail... and it controls the fuel pressure in the lines. Your fuel tank isn't pressurized. There's some other valves and such associated with the fuel system that have to do with smog, but nothing that would control pressure in the tank. Evaporative vapors, maybe... What's the problem you're having exactly?

code 91 fuel tank pressure sensor... i thought it was the gas cap...no dice. the only other thing i can think of is the fact that the sensor is leaking around the top on the tank making the car smell like gas...this is the last thing i can think of really....any ideas? btw this had a mini me swap 4dr lx to a d16y8

EDIT: yes its emissions

It's a pressure sensor for the evaporative emissions, but I have no idea if the parts are the same. Best way to find out would be call a dealership and ask if the #s are the same.

check ur charcoal canister, that is the most common reason for fuel smell inside the engine bay, or possibly the banjo bolt atop the fuel filter is leaking. tonight when i get home ill give u a run down of possible fuel components to check

alrighty now for the fuel smell neway, ur gonna want to check leaking fuel feed or return line, evaporative canister filter clogged, or fuel injector internal parts worn or fuel rail not connected correctly, or ur gas tank is just too full, pretty basic stuff but hey maybe itll help u. good luck
