Ok, my motor came out of my friends car, when we took it out everything was working just fine (vtec, secondaries, etc.) When i put it in my car i ran all the necessary wires and secondaries just dont work. Out of curiosity i wired them to the vtec sel. so when vtec hits the secondaries open, bad idea, you just get a cel for vtec sel. voltage, anyone else have this problem, or have some insight to where else i could wire this thing up to, i dont want them open all the time. A17 is the pin for the secondaries, when its connected, it does nothing. Any help would be appreciated!:thumbup:

 

Sorry, I don't know what you mean by secondaries, but that is my lack of knowledge. Are you talking about the thing called IAB? Because not all ECU's support that.

sure:thumbup: Yes the ecu does support it, like i said, it worked the the previous car.

 

Sure you got all the vacuum hooked up right? Should be a black vacuum can underneath the intake manifold, make sure that's all on & clamped.

 

i checked everything, vacs, wires, clamps, i even wired the iab directly to the ecu, still nothing,

im starting to think its somthing in the ecu

 

I re-read your original post, you don't say anything about the ecu, so I'm asking specifically. It is the exact same ECU that has been powering the motor all along?

What about the wiring harness? You know there are 2 different versions of OBD2? They switch over in the middle of the sixth gens.

Same engine, same ecu, different wiring harness could cause problems.
