Does the smell happen all the time? Just when the engien heats up? During up or down shifting? It could be a had catylitic converter, or a dead heater core, or a few different things. Give some specifics.

It happens during shifting. Mostly when I rev high and shift. I only smell it when I am stopped somewhere.

It might be your clutch slipping. Burnt clutches smell like ass.

does it smell like rotten eggs? do you have a chip in your car and have a stock engine - if the chip you have makes your car run very rich, it will do this. Some turbo chips will make your car run very rich on the top end. Also check your fuel pressure/regulator.

 True. They almost do smell like sulfur when getting cooked.

BTW: Do you "ride" the clutch?

Riding the clutch is where you rest your foot on the pedal instead of taking your foot clear off of it while you're driving.
