eek.... new fuel pump and some problems....
hey folks,
for a while, my b16a in my cx was running really shitty. it wouldnt rev hard at all. eventually, all power was lost. i just got a new fuel pump today (bbk 255lph). I popped that sucker in, and the car ran flawlessly. it reved all the way to the limiter (8500, chipped p28 with stock p30 program) and put down LOTS of power. but after running it for 30min, my cel came on, and the car started to run really shitty again. the engine wont rev quickly, and it sounds like its on 3 cylinders. also, the exhaust is very black, and smells like gas.
i checked the cel, and it was code 21, vtec solenoid. i thought it might have been the wiring coming loose, but it wasnt.
i also checked the plugs. 3 of them were fine, but the #1 plug was really sooty. cam timing is fine. spark timing is also ok.
can the pump be making me run too rich?? anyone have any insight?

ok... i think i just may be running super rich due to the new pump and possibly a fpr failure. i'm gonna swap out the plugs and switch the fpr with my old stock cx one...
