Default Engine Light

Hey all got a little problem. I was taking a turn tonight and my engine light turned on. My engine didn't sound or feel right, so I pulled over turned off the engin and popped the hood. I notice that a spark plug wire had come loose from my distributer. So I plugged it back in and fired her back up. The engine feels fine and sounds fine. But the engine light is still on. I have had the car off for about 2 hours and when I turned the car back on the light is still on. Anyone have any ideas.? Can I even fix this myself or do I have to bring it into a dealer. or could this be a more serious problem. Please help. Thanks

If the plug wire popped out, then you probably got a misfire code. If you want to check what code it was, look here:

If it is indeed the misfire code, then putting the plug wire back in probably solved it, and you can reset the ECM by either pulling the radio/backup fuse under the hood, disconnecting the battery, or disconnecting the ECM at its plugs for 10 seconds.
