Default questions about emissions testing.

i was wondering if i swap an LS into a 93cx would there be any problems at emissions? i dont even know what the hell emissions is, this is about to be my first car. If they open the hood and see that it's an LS motor instead of the cx motor will they get me in trouble for it?

In Cali, the engine has to be newer than the car. So in your case, as long as it's a 93+ engine, you should be fine. You also have to use the emissions equipment from the new engine. Other states are more lenient.
