Nitrous Question
Well anyways, I am new to the boards. So hello everyone.
Anyways, I have a question regarding a ricer in my area. He has an early 90's hatch with a 5spd, so I am guessing it is a 94 or so. Ok, so say he has a Si Hatch with 1.6 SOHC VTEC in it. How much can he possibly spray on his stock engine before he blows his engine?
Also, if it isnt the 1.6 SOHC VTEC, say it is just the base 1.5 engine, how much could he spray on the 1.5?
Thanks

If it is stock SOHC non-vtec........the most he can do is 50.......maby..........He should do more work on engine....like work on exhaust system and intake.......no point in spending money of it if your not doin more than 65 shot nitrous.....it can ruin the engine otherwise. The D16 models need to be worked on alot before adding nitrous. other wise you can screw up the engine. so spend money anything but nitrous and turbo.
The biggest problem spraying on a honda isn't how much nitrous it can handle. The biggest problem is that people who want to use nitrous don't want to spend a lot of money and either use a single fogger dry system or a wet system. The reason this is a problem is because stock honda intake manifolds have an air bias problem that starves cylinder #3, which will fry the rings first if sprayed on frequently, or too high of a shot. If you want to spray often, or higher shots, direct port is your best option.

if you are only going to run a 50 shot then d/p is not needed. i've been running a 75 shot (dry) on my b16 for 2 years without any problems. the only time that i would invest in a d/p set up is if i wanted to go over a 75 shot. make sure bottle pressure is good and keep an eye on the plugs and you should be fine.
