Ok, Ive heard and read about mixed feeling about using the VAFC on the h22.

Some people say that they have one and that it works just fine, then others say that it doesn't work properly with vtec engines or some shit.

So basicly whats thedeal ? Is it ok to use a VAFC with jdm h22 ?

Cause I wanna get my car on a dyno here pretty soon to see what im dealing with =)

A V-AFC is a normal S-AFC bu with a VTEC controller added. Basically you can use it to slightly modify (I think 20% up or down) how much your injectors squirt based on RPM. The V-AFC also can change the VTEC point, where you switch to the VTEC side of the cam. I don't see any reason it wouldn't work with a JDM H22A. The people who've said that probably either installed it improperly or don't understand how to use it. They expected it to just make power since it's plugged in or they just moved the VTEC point and the car didn't run properly.

Since your going to a dyno, I'm assuming you understand how it works, you lean out the fuel mixture till you make the most power or you get detonation. Err to the side of rich if you have to for safety. I wouldn't recommend playing with the VTEC point unless you change cams. Cams have a certain rpm point their designed for and Honda's engineers tend to know what their doing. Also, when on VTEC cams, your engine can move more air, so it will need more fuel. If you push the VTEC point up in the rpms, you'll run rich because the stock computer will still switch to the VTEC fuel maps, even though you've changed the actual engagement point (V-AFC,to my knowledge simply block the ECU signal to the VTEC solenoid and simply fake it at the new rpm, the stock ECU has no idea what it's doing). This can cause boggin and such unless you adjust for it with the AFC side of the controller. Push the engagement point down and you risk running lean before the stock computer switches to the VTEC maps. Good luck on the dyno, let us know what you spin. Seeya.

awesome break down man, thanks alot for takin the time to write that up. Pretty much cleared up alot of questions. =)
