my crx when i got it would top around 140 mph then i changed my exhaust and now it tops at 110 mph could the exhaust be the reason? when it tops it doesnt hit redline in 5th gear it gets to about 7 grand and just stops and then goes back up to 7 and stops. i only changed the exhaust tip though not the entire exhaust so any thing you could think of for why it is topping at 110???

 

A jdm B16 shouldn't top out pass 115. No jdm B16 top at 140. I've had my ecu chipped & I've had speedo to 120 not like I like to do that on open road.

110mph vs 140mph?

simple logic says take off the exhaust tip.

 

the engine is not stock and it was not the exhaust my ECU was in "limp mode" is what i was told, put in a chipped ECU and now it gets to just over 150 mph

 

stop driving so fast. especially in an almost 20 year old car.

 

Yeah, crxneedwork, I have a jdm B16 also in my 91 Civic Si & I was only able to top out at 115 until I have my ecu chipped & only got to 125. It was only once because just wanted to see what it would do. Not worth it on roads. Hard to believe that the B16 hit 140.How could you tell you was at 140 since our speedo only goes to 125. What kind of work did you get done? All motor/Turbo?
