Default H22 head F22 bottom?

Has anyone heard of this being done. A shop by my house says that they have done a number of these. I didn't think it was possible.

Would their be a big diffrence between a H22/F22 hybrid and just a H22?

well whats the reason for using the f22 bottom end, because you already have one or what? cause the JDM h22's are closed deck unlike the later model USDM h22a4's, so if you were going turbo then a jdm h22 bottom end should be sufficient... but for the labor it will cost you, and parts (if you dont have the f22 bottom end) then it might be worth it to go with just a complete h22 swap....

you can do it, but the F22 has an 85mm bore. the H series motors have an 87mm bore.

this means welding up and recutting the combustion chamber roofs in the H22 head.

yes, it can be done. but the $2000 required in head modifications can be better spent somewhere else.

Default Here's a better Idea

Here, instead of modifying the head, just get H22 pistons and bore the F22 block to match. Don't forget the sleeves...

Or use an f23 block. The bores match up alot closer, plus you get a .3L of increased displacement.
