Default Finally decided to build..

...a Y8 head. I know, not a big deal, but it's a good way to learn. And I could make a pretty mean SOHC if it turns out well.

Take a look at my page. Link is in the sig. Let me know what you think!!

If you have a 96-98 Y8 head, I believe the 99-00 Y8's have stiffer valvesprings. You can use those, if you haven't already decided to go with aftermarket springs.

It's a 97 head .. got it from a wreckers. The car it came from was a roll over.. which is good, I suppose. At least I know it was working before the accident.

I'll be using aftermarket springs I think. Likely Crower. I'll probably be using stock valves, though, since I'm not using F/I or nitrous. Are the 99+ valves themselves any different than earlier ones?

The 99-00 valvetrain in general is supposed to be slightly better than the 96-98, but I'm not sure of the exact differences in the valves themselves.
