Default Obd2->1 B18c1 ??

If I had a OBD2 gsr motor and I wanted to change it over to a OBD1 gsr motor what do I need to do ?

I'm guessing just a new distributor, and wiring harness?

you'll need a P72 OBD I ecu and an OBDII to OBDI conversion harness.

Wait... are you trying to put an OBD2 engine in an OBD1 car or change an OBD2 car to OBD1?

Stuff that won't plug in: Crankshaft speed fluctuation sensor. That's it.

Forget about it. Plug it into the OBD1 car with the OBD2 harness. Extra stuff just won't be pinned.

i'm surprised they didn't change any wires around in those plugs ? I was afraid they would plug in but certain wires went to the wrong place....

oops. my bad. didnt realize that it was concerning a motor.

swap the engine wiring harness as the plugs between the engine harness and firewall wiring harness are different.

i dont know if the B18C changed the timing (CKP, TDC) sensor locations from the distributor to the crank. if so, the easiest way to bypass this is to get an OBD I dizzy. if you cant, the OBD II timing sensors can still be read by an OBD I ecu... so you can just extend the wiries to reach the TDC and CKP sensors on the front of the motor.

wow, so converting a OBD2 GSR with the stock harness, is just merely extending 2 sensors and plugging the rest in with the OBD1 harness.....?
