Default engine swap

So my d16 engine on my acura 1.6 el went to waste and i need to swap my motor to make my car run again. I am gettin a motor for $450 and it has the bottom end of a d16z6 and the head n manifolds of a d16y8. I was told that it would be a fit and all i would have to do is change the tensioner off of my old motor onto it. I just need some advice to know that i am not making a dumb decision. Thanks to everybody that replies to this.

But the car comes stock with a y8 so does the block being a z6 make that big of a difference. I was told by the guy selling it that he did it for tuning purposes because the z6 block was tougher than the y8 block. And are u telling me to put a a1 in my car?

Your in canada lol ok ya it will work. I am gay and a us boy. The only problem you may run into is on the ecu side the obd2 ecus are looking for a sensor on the crank that the z6 lacks you can fix that with this http://www.ff-squad.com/technet/ckftrick.htm

Go for it if you already got the motor the z6 and y8 bottoms ends are almost identical the only big diff is that sensor. If you want to know more about the good old d-series go to www.d-series.org they are all crazy and you will fit in.

In the us the only acura that came with a d-series is the first gen integra so i got confused.

Have fun see you later.

Ohh alright cuz u confused me a bit with that. Actually i havent bought the motor yet and somebody is trying to sell it to me for $450. My mechanic told me that it would give me some trouble during the install. He told me that he could fix my motor for 1000 and add new piston rings. I can also get a used motor which is the d16y8 that came with the car for 550 and the install would be extra. What would be the best option? Thank you.

Go with what you want to do keep it easy........ Over complicating things sucks. As far as what I would do god only knows I would try to boost it and blow something up in the end.

Its not actually me doing the install im paying for it so i just dont want to waste any more money than what ive wasted already on the car. I dont really need to boost it or anything like that i just want a decent motor. The previous one maxed out at almost 220 km so its not like im going to see much speed. In an acura el would it be better to put the hybreed motor or a matching motor. Which motor is better and which one will give me less problems?
