Are you sure you don't have a vac leak or air in your cooling system?

How do I check for air in the cooling? Yep, I will check for vacum leaks too... it almost seems like it loads up.. when it starts to idle up and down, I rev the engine and let go and then it wants to stall. Then takes its time in re-starting but again idles intermitant.

Thanks!

If you want to bleed the air out of your cooling system, the simplest method I know of is to run the engine with the radiator cap off and the heater blasting full-hot. This will circulate any air that may be trapped in the heater core and you'll probably see it bubbling at the radiator filler neck.

It could be the fast idle valve, but since that is temperature controlled I'd bleed the cooling system first. On the upper coolant neck you'll see a bleed bolt (kinda looks like a grease fitting). Crack that open and bring the engine up to operating temp. When no more bubbles come out your done.

The fast idle valve is on the back of the intake and a b!tch to get at. Suggest investing in a Helms manual.
