Prelude Possible Engine Swap
Hey everyone.
I live in the uk and own a JDM Prelude type S.
I recently have been told that my engine is damaged possibly beyond repair and may need to change it.
My engine No is H22A (type S spec) and I have the ATTS manual gearbox.
My question to you guys is:
The only equivalent engine available in the Uk is an H22A 7 which goes in our Accord type R. (The "A" type S is very rare).
Will the A7 fit with the ATTS gearbox and if not, which engines will?.
Visually they look identical apart from the location of the oil filter, which I can use a remote mount kit on if necessary, but I need to know if there are any other differences to worry about.
Would appreciate any feedback or comments you may have on this..
Ben.

You shouldn't have a problem with fitment. The Ludes equipped with ATTS have a standard manual gearbox, and the ATTS unit is a seperate module that sits in the engine bay.
Only issue I could see would be how well your stock ECU would control the H22A7. I guess this could be fixed if you transferred over your old intake manifold, distributor, and sensors.
