Default Doing a b20 swap into my EG. Need a few double checks...

First off, that old rumor that ALL JDM B20B's have 9.6 compression is just a rumor right? Only USDM B20Z's and the NEWER JDM b20b (99+) have 9.6 compression?? How can I tell I am getting a B20B with the higher compression then? I read the b20 tech but it wasn't too clear... I'm gonna be buying off JDMHondaparts. Hopefully they give me the higher compression version...

I have a b16a in my EG right now. I'm gonna swap it out and put a b20 in. I'm running a p28 ecu rite now with the 95 del sol wiring harness. Not sure what tranny, but prolly the b16a one also (sticker/vin number is missing)...

From what I remember, I'll need:

p74/p75/p06 ECU which are the OBD1 LS ecu's or the stock civic DX ecu. I'd prolly have to get the p06 ecu chipped or something if I want it to run right, but it should at least work for now. Will the stock LS ecu need any chipping to run well? Pretty much gonna stay stock for a while, while I consider b20/vtec or building this b20...

LS intake manifold or the skunk2 one for the b18 motor (same bolt pattern). how benefial will will the skunk2 one be if I'm only revving to 7k? some tell me not much, some say it'll help the motor breathe a lot more... I will prolly add some crower 403's in later if i decide to keep the b20. Also does anyone know if ANY of the b20 intake manifolds will work? My friend tells me some of the b20 intake manifolds might work.

OBD-1 LS wiring harness. My friend is gonna sell me his old one for $50. I'll just take that since I don't have my stock one. Would the del-sol one work (i figure no cuz of the vtec sh_t)? Or should I just spend the $50?

And lastly, I'll need a obd-1 b-series distributor from an LS... I'm assuming I can't use my b16a distributor... Also I hear the one from teh b20 one work (that's IF they even include it)

b18 exhaust manifold since the b16a one will prolly hit the oil pan right?

And everything else such as starter/alternator/etc, I can use off my b16a right?

Thanx for the help, Im gonna pull my b16a pretty soon...

do the swap twice? hmm, i dont' get what you mean...

anyway, i pulled the b16a to put the b20 for torque... i can always go b20/vtec later..

oh... to pull the head, u don't need to pull the whole block...

why buy the computer and ecu and harness, dist.,exhast man. and intake man. when you'll need a different set for the b20vtec later? (twice)

and if you doing the b20 for torque, why not buy an ls than, only 3lbs difference and half the price?

oh....

im on my stock 94 LS ECU and it runs perfectly fine. i reused my LS intake manifold, distributor, wire harness, and header. i say just spend the $50 instead of trying to hack the del sol wires. you can probably sell it to someone who needs it and get some money back, or just save it and reuse it if you decide to put the VTEC head on it.
