Default Civic with a V6???

I'm sure everyone has seen the CRX/NSX hybrid.

Well some douche bag at my school is going around bragging that he's going to swap a V6 into a Civic. I'm not sure what year Civic. Unless he makes the car RWD [highly doubt it], is this swap even possible?

I've never seen Accord V6's in Civics before.

Default Ack!

That'll be even harder than my V6 into a 4G Accord... And good luck getting ahold of an NSX engine! I'm having enough problems locating the stuff I need from a drivetrain that is in 3 different models for the past 6 years!

We did a V8 into a 91 Civ hatch and switched it to RWD for the strip only but there was a lot of fabrication involved.

At first we thought we could get away without making a tube frame for it since it was more of a "can it be done" thing than an intended use thing.

Well it can but it takes a long time and a lot of work......btw if you push the gas 3/4 of the way down without the tube frame reinforcement you end up tearing the pan very quickly

if you want to do something totally unique and new, its going to take $$ and time. Not worth it. too much weight from the engine and to much worries. i woudnt do it :dunno:

tell the guy that hes a complete idiot for wanting to put a v6 in a civic. its too heavy, its too much work, and there are plenty of easier swaps available. besides, in stock form, an H22 pretty close to the accord's V6 in power output.

Default HP...

Aaah, yes the H22 does put out 200HP, as does the stock J30, but the J Series engines put out WAY more torque. You may not need the torque for a civic (until you put the added weight of the V6 in it ) but it's a better option for accords, in particular the wagons (like my '91). Unfortunately my wife kind of put the kabash to my V6 swap for the time being, the kitchen needs a remodel... Oh well.

Hahaha I remember that pic from last year

Not our car the engine in the Civ we did is a stock V8 motor (mostly).

That one there is in Texas if I remember right.
