I have an AEM CAI on my 96 prelude and anytime I have the RPM's over 5k it makes a sound like a lot of air is moving... like a wooshing sound.... I redline at 6200... so I don't hear it all the time... but no harm in anything I see/hear.

Dunno how to explain it exactly.... I think it sounds cool.

I have an aem CAI.... its not the same sound as when you FLOOR it, just wanted to know if thats what im faintly hearing when I accelerate lightly up to about 3500-4k rpms and it seems to sound louder before the car is warmed up completely, some people said they hear this so its probably normal. Sportmode, yea its kinda like a whistling sound but more so like a "rrreee" sound, hard to explain w/o hearing it, is yurs louder before the car is warmed up also?

i have an AEM cai on my hatch and if i have the pedal maybe half throttle it makes that whistling sound, i think its tight... but yes it is normal, just a point where it sucks in air.. like with a window if you barely have it open and wind gets in it and it starts whistling.... just a certain point where it whistles.

My CAI does sound louder/beefier in the 2k-4k range.... 4k-5k sounds normal and anything above 5k has this awesome sounding wooshing sound... kinda like a turbine engine coming upto speed.

Kinda sounds like the noise you make when tell someone to SHHHHH but increasing in pitch slowly.

As for being cold? I don't really know.... our weather has been pretty frigid for a couple months now... and I just recently put it in, so I don't know what it sounds like when it's warm.
