i know.....if they have the exact same holding capacity then how does one get such a higher percentage rating of holding power over stock than the other. and if you don't think exedy makes good clutches then how the hell do all of those 500 h/p cars in japan run those clutches without a problem. anyhow....

Few things about my experience with ACT:

1) I say if you got ACT get the heavy duty PP. The extreme PP has been known to break gears.
2) I have heard of one instance where the spring from an act clutch fell outta the hub and into the pressure plate. Didn't cause any damage but had to take the tranny off and stick in a new clutch.

Just a few things i've noticed, number two was probably an isolated incident. Other than that I think ACT clutches are pretty cool.

I like exedy too though. I think both brands are great.

Sorry my post was inconclusive.

I would assume with an LS turbo you're gonna be over the 200 whp mark, but the heavy duty PP should hold it just fine. That's what I have on my LS. The xtreme pp has been known to cause tranny problems with people who drive extremely hard. My roommate messed up his main shaft and broke 2 axles on the 1-2 shift with the xtreme.

Thanks for all the replies, but the clutch will now have to wait, as my hatch was brutally attacked by a 2001 Saturn L200.

Sorry to hear that bro, mine was attacked in October by a crustang and it's still not fixed yet...luckily I can still drive it. The other day in the parking garage at school someone hit the rear bumper again while I was in class...I'm glad I hadn't fixed it yet.
