Hey Spanky,

This is a little off topic, but I know you own a Fox body so I thought you'd appreciate this. VIN numbers on Roush Mustangs are for V6's. You can have a Stage 3 Roush and pay V6 insurance premiums!

In New Jersey, they would kick you out of insurance if you swapped motors probably. Because, we dont have any good insurance companies. Geico, Progressive, any of those good places we dont have them because our insurance is like 6000 a year for kids thats why I have florida insurance. :fawk:

Ok so maybe im the second Canadian here?

Anyways, you might be safe until it's time for emissions testings, which are manditory, then you might get booked. Unless you find a way to cut down on the emissions. Not sure if this applies to all of canada, but in Ontario that's how it is.

In Colo., as far as I can tell, anyway, if you pass the emissions test, you pass the emissions test, regardless of whats under your hood. As long as its not producing a bunch of nasty CO2 and other foul odors, you're fine.

I've heard that most JDM motors will pass the sniffer test but no the visual here in cali, due to stricter smog laws in japan. I've heard of many people tho, who put newer honda motor into their older honda/acura, and that should pass the test, since most of the motors were offered both in UDSM and JDM and if it looks as stock as possible you have a high chance of passing no prob
