Default a few general questions

Hello HAN!! I'm new to the board and would like to ask a few general questions. I don't think I would be considered a 'noob' as they call it. I just got done swapping out a B16A2 into my 95 2D Civic DX. My questions are...what would be better for a daily driver situation? Whether it be all motor or turbo setup? I'm looking to run anywhere in between low 12's to high 12's. Anywhere in that 12 sec range. I chose the B16 b/c I hear nothing but good news about it so thats why I went that route. I'm looking to spend about another $10,000 in the motor if that helps at all. Any less for the same result is even better. Any suggestions/comments/hints are welcome and appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Mark

If you want a daily driver that makes 12s, buy yourself a Firebird or Camaro. If you want to modify a FWD economy car like the Civic so that it's capable of running 12s, then you're going to have to do some radical alterations. If you're very careful, and spend a lot of money, you might be able to keep it street-legal. But just barely street-legal is a far cry from being daily driver material!

so building up a b16a2 all motor pushing a little over 210hp would not be very street legal? i heard people running mid 12's with drag tires mounted...the one setup that I was thinking about for all motor was:
-AEM CAI
-headers,exhaust,high flow cat(all 2.5" diameter)
-B18C1 bottom end with CTR pistons, and Crower rods
-UD pulleys
-11mm plug wires
-MSD ignition amp
-walboro(sp) fuel pump 190lph
-AEM fuel rail
-CM Stage 3
-10 lb flywheel
-70mm throttle body
-3 angle p&p
-skunk2 intake manifold,stage2 cams,cam
gears,valves,springs,&retainers
-unsure about which ECU program to go with(Any suggestions?)
-B16 tranny

With this setup, would this not be a mid 12's car plus a daily driver? Of course with suspension upgrades(lowering, shocks, axles, and what ever else needs to be done). I thank you for the input slow-n-low...i'm just trying to get some opinions and suggestions from HAN.

According to my figures, a 1995 DX coupe weighs 3245 lbs. Assuming a 155 lb. driver to make a nice round number of 3400 lbs. gross, the horsepower that you'd need to do a 12.5 would be 344 at the wheels. That assumes that everything else is well-matched and you have perfect traction. IMHO you're glossing over the traction part. It's going to take a lot more than just drag slicks and "suspension upgrades". In fact, good luck getting those slicks onto a lowered car. I wouldn't consider a car with big FWD drag slicks daily-driver material. That's my opinion.

um dude. .... i have 3 hatches, one has a b16 and one has a b18c, the b16 doesnt even come close to the b18, if you want a 12 sec b16 daily driver good luck. otherwise sell your b16 and get a gsr turbo

in other words and i think i speak for us all
the thought of a 12 sec NA b16 daily driver = NOOB
