Default crx will not run is it spark or fuel or ....?

Hey guys, I have a '91 CRX Si. While driving, car was running fine, until while accelerating like normal, car started hesitating and eventually stalled. Tried to start it again, did not want to start, until i gave i pressed on the gas and it started. Then ran fine for a day. Then the same thing happened, I got the car to start, but as soon as I gave the car gas in first gear to go, car died. Now I cant even get it to stay running. What could it be? All help is greatly appreciated, thanks

check your spark. if that's fine, check your fuses. also examine the fuel pump relay.

all of this is assuming your fuel filters are fresh and a tune up has been performed.

for the motor to die like that while driving, and then not want to stay running, does that sound more like a spark or a fuel problem?

You may have a bad fuel pump. I'd check the spark first cause that's easy, but if that all seems right I'd replace the pump.

How many miles on the car? have you ever replaced the pump?

it has 115,000 miles, and the fuel pump has not been replaced

Check your plugs/wires/cap/rotor - replace if damaged/worn.

Also, pressing the gas while starting does nothing on a fuel injected car.

Either time was there a strong gas smell? If yes then it's most likely spark, if no then it's prolly fuel related.

Check ur fuel pump relay. It should be up underneth the dash. The easy way to check the fuel pump is to get in the car and turn the key to the on position and listen for the fuel pump. There should be a little humming sound for a couple of seconds and if not I would start out checking out the relay. The relay will go up more often then a feul pump and it is a lot easy to fix.

i have hit that problem on two different occasions. once it died while driving and the fuel pump relay was stuck. replaced the relay and it ran fine.

the latest time it died like that, it ended up being my MSD 6BTM system frying.

in other wors, either one can cause the motor to suddenly die. check he easy stuff first, like fuses, plugs, cap, rotor. if all checks out, then move on to the harder stuff like relays, fuel pump...etc.
