Default Help. Rattling noise when in gear.

Hey I need your guys' help. In my beater Mazda when I am in any gear 2nd and above, and am NOT on the gas, there is a loud rattling noise that seems to be coming from underneath where the shifter is. The rattling increases in speed with the car, the faster I go the faster it is. Anybody have an idea what this could be? My shifter support has been broken for a long time so the whole thing sits lower, but its never rattled before.

I am hoping its only something that is going to be annoying and not affect the car. So far haven't noticed anything different in the car.

doesnt sound like something major, i knew someone who had the same problem , yurs is stick right? seems to be something loose where the shift is thats why it may only get hit in second gear, but theirs ended up being a worn bushing on the shifter and they changed it......

Yeah, I don't think its anything major. It rattles in EVERY gear 2nd to 5th. Anybody else have any tips or suggestions, or maybe if I can fix it myself?
